Learning Factors of Hearing-Impaired Students
Abstract
The objectives of this study were to: investigate the learning factors of hearing-impaired students, and compare
the factors of those students whose severity of hearing loss was different. The participants were 226 tertiary hearingimpaired
students. A questionnaire was used to collect the data and a program was used to analyze the data. The results
revealed that in general the students’ learning factors were high. Family support ranked the highest, followed by educational
institution support and parents’ assistance and cooperation. Communication ranked the least. As for the comparison, the
students viewed that they were provided with different assistance according to their severity of hearing loss.
