Abstract : Physical activity is important for general health, physical fitness and quality of life. Children with visual
impairement were participate less pysically activity compared with sighting children. The purpose of the study is to examine
the effect of rope jump and strength training on the quality of life in children with low vision. 19 visually impaired students
(11 girls, 8 boys) aged 8-15 years participated in the study. Students participating in the study were recruited from the school
for students with visual impairement. The students were randomly divided into two groups as training (n = 9) and control
group (n = 10). The students in the training group were received rope jumping and muscle strength training (sit -ups,pushups,
bridge building, upper extremity exercises with dumbbell and lower extremity exercises with sandbag) two times per
week for 8 weeks. The control group did not receive any training. The quality of life of the participants were assessed by
using Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory (PedsQL) before and after the training. PedsQL has four modular scales as
physical, emotional, social, and school functioning. There was no significant statistically change in PedsQL scale scores in
both the exercise and control groups (p> 0.05). The results of our study suggest that rope jumping and muscle strength
training migth no effect on the quality of life in children with low vision. In the future there is a need to study with a larger
samples.
