Abstract : The development of the Indonesian animation industry for several years has not shown significant results as expected. The low production of animated television series is a substantial indicator of industrial development. The difficulty of industry players to access television stations as the main distribution media becomes the dominant factor making it difficult for industrial development. Distribution policies, production costs, and conglomeration in national television stations are obstacles to the industrial complex to grow. This paper aims to examine the potential development of the Indonesian animation industry in the era of online video content distribution. Online distribution media is a new method and has great potential in the development of creative industries, including animation. Indonesia, as a developing country, is still looking for direction in the development of the animation industry, has an excellent opportunity because of the number of internet users, including one of the largest in the world. The combination of the internet and innovation is expected to accelerate the development of the animation industry.
