The Role of State on Sustainable Industrial Development in Thailand

Abstract
Thai industrial development has been one of the most important government policy for many decades. The purposes of this study was to investigate the role, policy, and regulations on sustainable industrial development in Thailand, to study factors that had impacts on the role, policy, and regulations on sustainable industrial development in Thailand, and to study problems, and obstacles of the government in implement the policy. This was a qualitative research method which had four steps: document research, interview, nonparticipant observation, and purposive approach cases. The informants were selected from high level of management, policy makers, government officials, and academics. The benefit of the findings of this research were to understand the roles, policies, and regulations of the government in order to provide a proper recommendation to guide the future policy effectively as well as to understand problems and obstacles of the policy in the past and offer sustainable solutions.
