Paper Title
A Study Control Speed Profile Optimization for Automated People Mover

Abstract
This article presents a study of energy saving for an Automated People Mover (APM) system using Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) for searching the speed profile of the system. The variables controlling the speed profile are an acceleration rate, a deceleration rate, and a coasting point. The test system used in this article is a simple APM service with two passenger stopping stations and a service distance of 1 km. The result showed that the speed profile with a service speed of 40 km/h used the total energy of approximate 0.16 kWh for traction, which was less than that of other cases.
