Implementation of NCFTE 2009: Theory to Practice
Abstract
The study presented in this paper was conducted to analyze the implementation of NCFTE 2009 in B.Ed. programme. The teacher education paradigms given by Zeichner were used to analyze two-year B.Ed. syllabus document and implementation of two-year B.Ed. programme. This study was qualitative in nature comprised of teacher educators, student teachers and curriculum coordinators of two universities. Observation Schedule, Rating Scale, FGD Schedule and Interview Schedule were employed. The important finding of the study was that the syllabi document of two-year B.Ed. followed the inquiry-oriented paradigm in its true spirit but the actual implementation is still grounded in the traditional behavioristic orientation of teacher education.
