Abstract
The purpose of this study was to investigate cultural resources and bicycle tour in Ban Chiang Sub-district
area,Nong Han District, Udon Thani Province using the documentary method of study, field trips and questionnaires. The
results were then evaluated, as well as analyzed for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, and present them as a
cycling route for tourism and road management for sustainable tourism within the framework of resource management,
sustainable tourism management culture and management of bicycle routes for tourism. The results of the study found that
Ban Chiang Sub-district area, Nong Han District, Udon Thani Province was an area with a long history and continuous
development for over 5000 years to the present and had diverse cultural resources, including cultural resources in the form of
temples, farmer communities and valuable museums in the aspects of history, art or technique, spirituality (belief / faith) and
value of community lifestyle, so it was considered a community with high tourism potential. In terms of community
participation in Ban Chiang Cultural Tourism Site management policy, the community did not participate in policy
formulation, but had participated in the implementation of the policy well. They participated in the utilization of tourism site
management policy, formed a Tai Phuan Folk Museum to preserve the traditions, culture of Tai Phuan Ban Chiang and
formed a professional group to be a form of cultural tourism. The community took part in the activities of welcoming tourists
by joining occupations according to their aptitudes and opening houses as homestays for tourists to stay and experience
lifestyle, eating, dressing and Tai Puan culture which was a unique signature of Ban Chiang community, generating income
of the community. Problems and obstacles related to the participation of Ban Chiang community in the policy of managing
important cultural tourism sites included: Most professional groups lacked people who would inherit their wisdom, no buses
to travel to tourist attractions, no reception points for tourists. From the route survey and study of bicycle tour in Ban Chiang
Sub-district area, Nong Han District, Udon Thani Province, it was found that there were 2 lanes of asphalt road,
approximately 6 meters wide, but had not been promoted despite the fact that it was a highly safe route, able to access the
way of life and culture of farmers well. Therefore, this area is suitable to be developed and promoted as a bicycle route for
tourism. But the problem was that existing tourism was not thoroughly utilizing cultural resources and public relations.
Therefore, the management of bicycle routes for tourism must be studied by paying attention to the use of cultural resources
in the area by using the Ban Chiang National Museum and Wat Santiwanaram as the center to provide bicycle tour services,
as it was a nearby tourism resource, culturall and tourism potential. However, there must be a participatory management of
all sectors and the development of good tourism facilities and public relation
