Paper Title
Productivity Growth and Technology Adoption in the Banking Sector of Thailand

Abstract
Abstract - This paper aims to investigate the productivity growth and technology adoption of the Thai banking industry using data from seven banking entities in the Thailand market from 2004 to 2019. The studied period is considered an era of significant technology adoption in the country’s banking sector. We apply Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) based on an output-oriented Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI) to measure total factor productivity (TFP) growth. The TFP growth can be decomposed into changes in technology and in technical efficiency. The results indicated that technology adoption is the key source of TFP growth. The evidence can provide crucial policy guidelines to promote the sustainable productivity growth of Thailand’s banking system. Keywords - Technology Adoption, Productivity Growth, Malmquist Productivity Index (MPI), Banking Institution.
