What Do Students at Risk of Dropping Out Want in Terms of Academic Supports to Encourage Retention in Distance and Online Learning (DOL)?

Abstract
Abstract - To identify support measures promoting the perseverance of students enrolled in undergraduate studies in a distance and online education (DOL) context, 791 students responded to an online questionnaire, with a subset participating in discussion groups. The results indicated that students had difficulties with both their learning skills and with their academic and social integration. To address these, support measures must be offered beginning in their first year of study and continuing throughout their studies until graduation.
