Paper Title
Preserving Location Privacy in Search Queries Based on Past Nearby Locations

Abstract
Location based services lately evolved into an essential component of daily life as a result of the fast growth of mobile communications, internet services and Internet of Things applications. The gathering and analysing of users location and trajectory information, however, can compromise privacy when users take advantage of location-based services. A novel privacy protection strategy derived by past nearby locations is suggested for solving the aforementioned problem. The primary concept behind this method is to choose an existing past nearby location to replace the present position of the client, after which the picked position is provided to the location-based service server. This solution guarantees that the client may utilize location-based services without revealing the true position to the untrusted location-based services server, improving the privacy protection standards while simultaneously lowering the server's calculation and communication cost. This technique not only provides privacy protection to queries but it also boosts query performance and location-based service quality while retaining a respectable amount of privacy as compared to existing privacy-preserving techniques like kanonymity and fake location.
