Paper Title
Research on The University Students’ Loyalty to The Initial Professional Choice

Abstract
For the past decades, the researchers and educators have noted an increasing concern about the loyalty of modern graduates to the initially chosen profession. What is more, there is a growing tendency among students to choose Master’s program other than Bachelor’s. This way it is hard for the state to predict the number of graduates ready to join the professional community. It may provoke unprecedented and uncontrolled deficit of skilled specialists. Chasing the dream of getting a tertiary education, school leavers sometimes tend to apply to the universities not requiring high exam scores, regardless of the faculty. All other reasons for changing the priority of the profession are studied in this paper by the researches. This paper offers the analysis of bachelor students’ priorities and intentions when choosing a future profession as well as their willingness to stay in their profession further on. The authors of the study conducted a research based on a questionnaire form created for the 3-rd and 4-th year bachelor’s degree students of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO University). The subject of the research is a questionnaire database filled in by 152 senior students of 4 faculties of MGIMO University concerning their priorities in choosing faculty and profession and their level of loyalty to it.The study has got a number of limitations though. Firstly, it is based on one university students’ questionnaires only. Secondly, bachelor senior students exclusively participated in the research. Thirdly, only the students’ opinion concerning the choice of profession and loyalty to it was considered, no academia participated in the survey under the consideration of the researchers. The methods applied are: a questionnaire, content analysis, sampling and categorization. The findings of this study imply that MGIMO senior students are highly concerned about the changes in the sphere of employment and do their best to meet the criteria and standards of the professional challenges of our time, considering it of paramount importance in the studies. Nevertheless, despite the highest level of education in MGIMO University, students believe that obtaining more knowledge in multidisciplinary subjects or an extended specialization, as well as two different or complementary majors will enable them with a competitive edge and due proficiency.
