Paper Title
Impact of Agent Banking Program on Deposit Mobilization in Nigeria

Abstract
This short research report explores the contribution of agent banks to deposit mobilization in Nigeria. Agent banking is the major financial inclusion tool employed in Nigeria. The operation of agent banks is measured in terms of the total value of POS transactions. The value of total deposits in an economy is a keyfactor in the mechanism for capital formation and wealth creation. The results reported in this paper imply that agent banks have not significantly contributed to deposit mobilization, suggesting that Nigeria has not moved close to achieving its financial inclusion goals. Keywords - Nigeria, Financial Inclusion, Agent Bank, Total Deposit, Pos, Banks.
