Social Media in Education – An Romanian Experience
Information and communication technologies are a necessity in the contemporary process of teaching - learning.
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the dimensions of social media use in educational context. The research method is
based on a questionnaire survey. In research participated 104 students (56 students enrolled in the Full time Bachelor’s
Degree Programs and 48 students enrolled in the postgraduate courses). The results show that the use of ITC is in the process
of transition from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0. Students exchange information, use social media platforms at different levels and
contribute slightly with original product in virtual environment.
