Abstract : The study of the paper is about Infant Mortality rate of India by sex and region. Data collected from the Census of India, Sample Registration System, Registrar General of India (RGI). The scope of the research has been revealed the significance of Infant Mortality Rate (IMR) by sex and region in India. Kerala has highest life expectancy and lowest IMR among the Indian states. Madhya Pradesh showed lowest life expectancy and highest IMR by sex differentials. The Infant Mortality Rate of females have high mean and less variance than the males. IMR has been high correlation positively with Neo-Natal Mortality Rate,rather Post Neo-Natal Mortality Rate. The trends, charts and R2 values and descriptive statistics have been computed, employed Mathematical and Statistical methods analyzed the results from available data. It concluded role of female education leads to reduce the Infant Mortality Rate of India. Keywords - IMR, Life expectancy of India, Mathematical and Statistical analysis.
