Abstract : Considering Kazakh women, who manifests a different level of commitment to religion, it seems they translate their religious believes in a wide range of spectrum. The present study was designed to examine how level of religiosity influences lifestyle of women. With this objective, questionnaires and interviews were used to observe local and national dynamics of ethnic Muslim women living in Zhanaozen, Kazakhstan together with their personal evaluation of individual preferences, social position, and networks. Taking its current shape due to historical prerequisites, and current developments, Islam here is presented as an integral part to ethnic identity of its female citizens.
