Abstract : The study attempts to assess the impact of the European environmental non-tariff measures (NTMs) on the
Egyptian Chemical Exports at the 6-digit level of the Harmonized System over the period 2005-2014. The main hypotheses
for this study tests whether the EU environmental non-tariff measures affect negatively the performance of Egyptian Chemical
exporters, and are used as a disguised tool for protection or in other words, as a form of a non-tariff barrier.
