Abstract : The purpose of this study was to observe the effect of aerobic exercise on the cardiovascular disease risk factors of middle–aged women with impaired glucose tolerance(IGT). The 40-64 year old middle–aged women participants were divided into 10 control group, 9 low–intensity aerobic exercise group(LIAG) and 9 high–intensity aerobic exercise group(HIAG). Also, The aerobic exercise by intensity was performed three times a week for 12 weeks. A repeated measure ANOVA by using SPSS ver.22.0 was performed to compare the groups pre and post exercise. As a result, On the other hand, there were no statistical differences in cardiovascular risk factors between three groups, however, when comparing the changes over time, triglyceride(p<.01) and C-reactive protein(p<.05) significantly decreased in LIAG. Also, total cholesterol(p<.05), triglyceride(p<.05) and C-reactive protein(p<.01) decreased and HDL-C(p.05) increased in HIAG. Therefore, high-intensity aerobic exercise is effective for improving reduce the cardiovascular risk factors of middle-aged women with IGT.
