Abstract : This paper’saim was to approach to the character design concept and to understand the creative influence of this area in visual communication design and graphic design areas. Character design is used in many areas including animation movies, advertising, product design and in many design problems. In the four character design workshops that are examined in this research it can be seen that with the help of character design projects students can be guided to innovate, create and discover multi solutions to the design problematics. In this study, the creative solutions of the workshop students to the projects are examined. Index terms - Character design, visual communication design, graphic design, design problems.
