Abstract : This article is aimed to the study on Japanese autobiography documentary “The Glass Rabbit” with the objective of study the writing techniques according to literature elements, language usage, and also the value of facts and opinions of the author about the event of second World War. This can be defined as The plot of this documentary is not complicated, it has clear main plot, that is the conflict between human and war that show the cruelty and loss brought by the war which bring nothing but destruction. This main conflict affected the story, opening by the most familiar thing for the author, which is her home and neighborhood. Then, the opening of each chapter will be a narration about place, event, character, and date by time respectively. The story process is conducted by solving each problem one by one without complication. The ending is the summary that the war and conflict was ended, and the author ended with her most familiar thing, her home and neighborhood, but the different feeling of before and after the war was hidden in there too. In her happiness of something close to her, the opening is the happiness that the readers could clearly understand and see the hidden difference. Before she narrates, she will narrate through character of the story, which is Toshiko Takagi herself as the main character using first person point of view. The narration in this type will make readers understand the situation and feeling of the character deeply while also perceive the feeling of other characters through the eyes of the protagonist too.
