Abstract : Early warning scoring can be used in assessing hospitalization for infants, for assessing vital functions and for predicting worsening symptoms. Early warning scoring is performed by evaluating the parameters of newborn infants such as body temperature, breathing, heart rate, consciousness, blood sugar and oxygen saturation. According to the obtained score, applications such as respiratory support and drug use are decided after admission and after. The parameters considered in early warning scoring systems used in practice are different from each other. Although each of these parameters is of a different level of importance in determining the condition of the patient, it is usually taken equally in current scorings systems. Analytic Hierarch Process (AHP) can be used to measure these parameters and their significance levels, which are based on the scoring, and can be measured and compared on a benchmark basis. In this study, the vital parameters to be used in early warning scoring of newborn infants were determined in the light of literature review and expert opinion. The level of importance of the vital parameters in determining the condition of a patient were determined by AHP method. In addition, the early warning scoring system is applied based on the determined vital parameters to newborn babies in a large hospital. Keywords- AHP; early warning scoring; neonatal
