Study on the Deep Learning based Face Recognition on Low Performance Hardware

Abstract
A variety of user authentication technologies have been developed and used in accordance with the diffusion of the Internet, including smart devices.Especially, biometric authentication technology with high security is widely used. Among these, face recognition authentication technology has advantage of non-contact authentication and can be used at a relatively long distance.This face recognition authentication technology, with development of Deep-Learning, has been rapidly developed, also the research cases beyond human recognition function are also being reported.This study confirms that such deep learning based face recognition technology shows sufficient performance even on low specification hardware.This study discusses the reasons for the selection of technologies due to various constraints of low-specification hardware, how to use them, and shows the performance comparison with face recognition in a high-performance computing environment.
