Abstract : Over the past three decades, there have been so much highlighting on pride and personal achievement at the workplace where teamwork seems to be ignored by managers and employers. Due to this, management sees less importance of teamwork as a major tool of performance which has led them to low performance and productivity in most organizations. This study therefore seeks to identify the effect that teamwork has on organisational performance. The objective of this study was to identify factors that connect with teambuilding. In so doing, the paper identifies the positive effects of teamwork on employees and examines the impact of teamwork on organisational performance on employees of three major financial institutions in the two major cities of Ghana. Several measures of team performance were analyzed including team trust, employee recognition and rewards. Purposive sampling technique was used to select both the employees management in the organization. A self-structured questionnaire was used in the data collection. The research study used constant comparative analysis approach to analyze the relationship between the major statements in that was teambuilding and organisational performance. There was clear evidence that teamwork and other measures of team performance are positively related with organisational performance. The result of the study shows that there was a significant positive impact of teamwork on organisational performance.
