Abstract : The brotherhood relations in traditional and non-traditional security issues between Indonesia and Malaysia show a dynamic, complex, and ambiguous patterns of relations. The aim of this article is to explain the construction of news coverage the Indonesian and Malaysian governments in constructing a message of brotherhood alliance between the two countries. Data were obtained from the official websites of the Indonesian and Malaysian governments and then processed using content analysis.Research results show that the construction of news coverage messages from the Indonesian government is an expression to negotiate a number of private and public problems faced by Indonesia, while the Malaysian government constructs the news coverage message as a process of internal communication with the population.
