Abstract : Abstract - This research paper addresses the most important problems affecting the performance and efficiency of maintenance technicians and engineers whom work on production units and factories in Libya, especially in the oil sector. The study presents the conditions of this problem, illustrates a comprehensive assessment of the level of performance and efficiency of technicians, and discusses the proposed solutions that would raise the level of efficiency and develop maintenance processes, which will definitely result in an improve in the production process. This study was conducted on the maintenance department of Sirte Oil Company in El-Brega, Libya, as a typical example of what the maintenance teams actually face, and the negative effects on the efficiency of technicians.
