Author :Darsh Preet Singh Bhullar

Abstract : This novel study aims to understand and outline the role of play way learning methods and their resultant impact on the overall development of children ranging from cognitive to social, emotional, creative, and physical, viz. full broad spectrum of skills. Two widely accepted approaches that have been identified are teacher-centered pedagogy and learner-centered pedagogy approach. The former approach positions the teacher at the center of the learning process with whole-class lectures, emphasizing on memorization, and chorus answers. It has been criticized by various eminent researchers since students are afraid of teachers, hesitate to ask questions and merely complete their lower-order tasks with no learning at all. Unlike this approach, learner-centered pedagogy approach has been accepted with many associated terms: constructivist, student-centered, participatory, playing an active role in the entire learning process. Students make use of their prior knowledge and new experiences to create knowledge. Keywords - Modeling, Teacher-Centered and Learner-centered Pedagogy, Constructivist, Cognitive, Memorization
