Abstract : This paper reviews the type of approaches used for airborne electromagnetism (AEM) for landmine detection. Case studies illustrate that AEM is an effective device for early-stage site investigations despite the fact that existing AEM technologies lack the resolution necessary for later stages, complicated engineering designs. Intrusive, ground-based methods for landmine detection are more time-consuming and expensive, but site investigations may become more productive if they are used to augment the limits of AEM data. With new improvements in unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) systems and rising investments in AEM research, there is a possibility of this technology's continuous global use. Also, we explained some classification techniques that have been highlighted in this paper for decision-making in the detection process.
