Abstract : The purpose of the research was to evaluate the main musculoskeletal risks in the workers of an automotive mechanic workshop in Lima, Peru, through an Ergonomic Analysis. It is a case study with an exploratory-descriptive scope and a mixed approach, developed in one of the largest automotive mechanic workshops in Peru. To identify the incidence of musculoskeletal discomfort among mechanics, the Nordic questionnaire, the OWAS method and the NIOSH equation were applied. The results show areas requiring immediate corrective measures, as well as the existing risk of musculoskeletal problems such as low back pain or cervical syndrome. The Nordic questionnaire identified the lower back with the highest incidence of discomfort; by means of the OWAS methodology, it was categorized that 50% of the postures in the painting area require prompt corrective measures; finally, the application of NIOSH allowed quantifying the maximum recommended weight to be lifted in certain tasks, showing a risk of low back pain or back problems. Keywords - Ergonomic intervention, working conditions, The Nordic questionnaire, The OWAS method, NIOSH Equation.
