Abstract : Emotion regulation is an important aspect of children's daily lives as it affects children's understanding of how to
respond, express emotions, behave and be happy. Emotion regulation abilities are also important for the skills that children
need as adults. The capacity of children to control their emotions varies widely. Children generally have difficulty in
regulating their emotions. This is due to several factors including parental attachment. Children's capacity to regulate their
emotions depends on their parental attachment style. Therefore, this study was conducted to examine parental attachment to
children's emotional regulation. The research method used a systematic literature review through five stages to determine
articles related to parental attachment to children's emotion regulation. The five stages are: first, identify the research
question; second, collect relevant studies; third, study selection; fourth, map the data; and fifth, summarize and report the
results. Through these stages, 15 relevant articles were obtained for the period 2016-2023. The results show that parental
attachment affects children's emotional regulation. Children with a secure attachment have an ability to manage their
emotions, so they able to establish interactions with their environment. Children with insecure attachment, which is
ambivalent attachment and insecure disorganized, tend to have difficulty in handling low emotional regulation. Attachment
between parents and children plays an important role in children's emotion regulation strategies.
