Abstract : In a film which has a classical narrative structure, we can see representations of various social types. If the sociological imagination is used, it is possible to see the connection between the social types in films and real life. The situation is similar in Turkish cinema. Representation of social types in Turkish films has a strong connection with the real life and developments in the country. Aim of this study is to examine origins of social types in classically narrated Turkish films and their connection with the real life throughout sociological imagination. With aim, after a general introduction, classical narrative structure will be examined. Then, we will examine character and type in cinema films. Finally, we will examine origins of social types in Turkish cinema. Keywords— Social Types; Sociological Imagination, Cinema, Turkish Cinema.
