Abstract : The complexity and large size of object-oriented (OO) frameworks have affected their reuse in computer programming among novices. Introducing OO frameworks for software concepts has been recognized as a great challenge in educating novices. Hence, the development of documentation styles serves as an important research in information technology. The documentation styles assessed in this paper include minimalist, traditional step by step (SBS), and patterns styles. We tested the documentation to verify the correctness of the subtasks. Next, we developed an opportunistic model to classify excellent, good, moderate or poor learners (EGMP). The EGMP model is integrated with three perspectives, namely completion time, comprehension, and workings. The model formation shows that the documentation principles lead to advantages in different areas in transferring knowledge to novices. This research facilitates a systematic and methodological plan to model optimum resource allocation in transferring knowledge to novices. The intended population where data will be gathered under this study will be 300 novices in software engineering. Keywords: Information Technology, Software Engineering, Framework, Knowledge Transfer, Documentation.
