Abstract : This research study the factors affecting the motivation in learning Japanese language by choosing a case study atSuanSunandhaRajabhat University. The aim of this study is studies about 1) affect motivation and the motivation in learning Japanese 2) Compare Japanese Major and Minor student’s motivation to learn Japanese. Target participants of this study were 353 students who enrolled in Japanese language course of the Humanities and social science at SuanSunandhauniversity during the first semester of the academic year 2016. The research classified the factors affecting on learning Japanese for 1) Intrinsic motivation 2) extrinsic motivation. The methodology was a questionnaire combined with document research. The results showed that student’s first Intrinsic motivation is wants to travel in Japan. And The first extrinsic motivation that Japanese can be useful in the future. Inaddition, Japanese education in Thailand has expanded exponentially. For Japanese instructors to integrate this results with the class teaching to introduce motivation and perseverance in their learners to enhance the Japanese skills.
