Abstract : Adventure-based tourism is a specific type of tourism that has been increasingly preferable by travelers in recent
years. The changes in tourist demand resulted in adventure tourism is one of the sectors of tourism that has rapidly
developed in the world. In this context the paper preferably defines adventure-based tourism and states the characteristics of
this type of tourism. Among other things the paper aims to identify the possibilities for adventure-based tourism, classifying
activities according to seasons and the region. in Turkey. As a result, the study will demonstrate the particular opportunities
for alternative forms of tourism in the country, introducing adventure-based tourism and encourage travelers to look at
Turkey from different angles.
