Abstract : This research aimed to explore models in English reading of Students at King Mongkut’s Institute of Technology Ladkrabang (KMITL). The samples were 35 KMITL second year Liberal Arts students, majoring in English, during the first semester of 2016 academic year. The research instrument was questionnaires and the data were analyzed using statistics programs. The statistics used were frequency, percentage, arithmetic means, t-test, and One-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The hypothesis testing was set at the 0.05 level of significance. The results were as follows: (1) Students’ models in reading are different. The level of students’ reading frequency on various categories of reading materials and their level of motivation were at moderate level (total mean = 3.03 and 2.95 respectively). In contrast, their time consumption for preparing different kinds of activities was at high level, (total mean = 3.67). (2) There were no statistically significant differences in English reading models between male and female at the 0.05 level. (3) Interestingly, students with different levels of reading ability - high and mid – also had statistically significant differences in their reading models in the aspects of reading frequency, motivation in reading, and time consumption for preparing English reading activities at the 0.05 level.
