Abstract : Udaipur is one of the fast growing cities in western India. The study ranks five growth zones of Udaipur Municipal
Corporation area. These five alternatives are analysed for nine parameters, they are further grouped into three for final fuzzy
level ranks. The best alternative is evaluated considering overall effect of nine parameters and weights are assigned as per
the importance of each parameter in the urban growth process. The South-East zone is ranked 1st with urban growth index of
0.83 from the ideal point whereas the East , Central North and West zone are ranked as 2nd, 3rd,4th and 5th respectively in the
zonal growth potential.
