Community Business: Rural Revitalization Comparisons

Abstract
Community Business (CB) in rural areas projects concerns sustainable revitalization or reverse rural economic decline.In this paper we explore CSR and East Asia rural regions of Japan, South Korea, and China reviewing common paths typologies. A model for initiating sustainable community level competitive business approaches is proposed. This includes interrelated parties such as, governments, NGO, and NPO groups.The paper demonstrates how CB typologies are both complex and divers. Further, a model illustrating the relationship between corporate CSR efforts and CB mutual ongoing dependency is proposed. The aim is to be able to understand and apply these models appropriately to a wide spectrum of new CB businesses for the future. Keywords - Rural Revitalization; CSR; Path Mapping; Community Business.
