Paper Title
Circular Business Models: A Framework for Sustainability and Resilience

Abstract
Abstract - Throughout its evolution and diversification, our industrial economy has hardly moved beyond one fundamental characteristic established in the early days of industrialization- a linear model of resource consumption that follows a take-make-dispose pattern. For the first time in history, more than 100 billion tons of materials are entering the global economy every year. Humanity has the incentive, responsibility, and the ability to make development sustainable to ensure that it meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. This paper presents Circular Economy and Circular Business Modelsas a viable and effective framework to both challenge and guide us as we rethink and redesign our future. Business leaders, consumers and governments are discovering that continued wealth generation requires a new industrial model that is less dependent on primary energy and materials inputs, and ultimately able to regenerate our natural capital.
