The Role of the Business Network on Internationalization Performance of Small and Medium Sized Enterprises in Turkish Furniture Industry

Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine the role of the sub-dimensions of business network on internationalization performance. Informations about demographic characteristics is also provided.The answers are obtained from a questionnaire which is applied to SMEs that manufacture and export and are also part of a business network in Turkish furniture industry. The research questionnaire consists of Business Network Scale (Gündoğdu, 2015) and the internationalization performance scale (Gündoğdu, 2015; Kurt,2016). In our study,the hypotheses were tested by analysing 160 valid questionnaire data by using SPSS.According to the results of the research, the strength of tie as the sub-dimension of the business network variable predicted the internationalization performance positively and significantly, while the structure of the network and the contribution of the network did not have a significant effect on the internationalization performance.
