<strong>Abstract</strong><br>
The paper aims at deepening understanding of innovation in low-technology enterprises. It describes
diversification of innovation behaviour among low-technology industries using data from the eighth Community Innovation
Survey (CIS 2012). The results of the cluster analysis reveal polarization in innovation across European countries. The
differences in performance among the European Union members put into question the existence of a single innovation pattern
of low-technology industries.
