Irrational Rationality: Decision Making in Aspects of Time

Abstract
Numerous studies have shown general agreement that human beings behave irrationally under certain predictable scenarios. In decision making, the behaviors could be conducted by emotion rather than rationality. In this study, we propose a rational explanation on these predictable irrational behaviors by considering time as well as the goal in decision making. These predictable irrational behaviors imply that humans possess rationality in foresight. Index Terms—Decision Making, Expected Utility, Goal, Rationality.
