Arts Integration Creates an Effective Learning Environment For Children in Kindergarten
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to create warm and fun activities to create a positive learning environment. The
study consisted of 31 children ages 5-6 years old, half of the children were placed in 12 Arts Integrated classes, while the
other half stayed in their regular classes. The classes consisted of Visual Arts / Music / Movement / Drama combined with
the regular classroom criteria. The point of the study was to see if this approach to teaching would help children feel more
motivated to learn and also to see if there would be a positive effect on the development of the Executive Functions of the
brain.
