Abstract : The paper shows direct and indirect forms of supporting the process of introducing scientific solutions into Polish
agriculture. These instruments are contained in the Rural Development Programme – RDP (2nd pillar of the Common
Agricultural Policy). The measures related to the development of knowledge within the RDP were presented, so were
financial resources allocated for their implementation as well as R&D inputs regarding agricultural sciences. The EU system
of introducing scientific solutions by so-called operational groups has been demonstrated.
